As you step off your cruise ship in Hobart, the fresh Tasmanian air greets you, and your adventure begins. Just a short walk from the terminal, our friendly team awaits at the EGUIDE tour desk, ready to whisk you away on an unforgettable journey through Tasmania’s wildlife, history, and breathtaking scenery.
Leaving the bustling port behind, we journey north toward Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for Tasmania’s most iconic creatures. Along the way, the scenery transforms from Hobart’s charming streets to rolling countryside, where green hills and open farmland stretch toward the horizon. At Bonorong, the magic truly begins. You’ll have 90 minutes to wander through this incredible sanctuary, where Tasmanian devils, wombats, and echidnas make their home. The friendly kangaroos, always eager for a snack, gently nibble from your hand as you admire the dedication of the sanctuary’s team in rehabilitating and protecting these unique species.
With memories of Tasmanian wildlife still fresh in your mind, we return to Hobart, weaving through the heart of the city. As the city fades behind us, we begin the climb up kunanyi / Mount Wellington. The road winds through towering eucalypt forests before giving way to alpine terrain, where the air becomes crisp and fresh.
Reaching the summit, you step out to one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in all of Australia. Below, Hobart sprawls along the River Derwent, its harbor glistening in the sunlight. To the south, Bruny Island sits on the horizon, while the Tasmanian wilderness stretches endlessly to the west. You take a deep breath, soaking in the raw beauty of this place, capturing photos that will forever remind you of your time in Tasmania.
As we descend the mountain and return to the city, there’s still time to take in the charm of Hobart before making your way back to your cruise ship. With memories of wildlife encounters, stunning landscapes, and a taste of Tasmania’s history, you’ll step back on board knowing you’ve experienced the very best of Hobart in just a few hours—seamlessly, comfortably, and with time to spare.
