Discover Cradle Mountain on a private day tour designed for couples, families and small groups. Enjoy a scenic journey through Tasmania’s Central Highlands, followed by approximately four hours at Cradle Mountain to explore at your own pace.

7:30 am – Depart from your Hobart accommodation
Travel through the Central Highlands, passing Great Lake and the historic town of Deloraine. Enjoy changing landscapes, local insights from your experienced driver-guide and opportunities for short photo stops along the way.

Approximately 12:00 noon – Arrive at Cradle Mountain
Spend the afternoon exploring this spectacular World Heritage landscape. Choose a walk beside Dove Lake, visit historic Waldheim Chalet, enjoy shorter rainforest walks or simply relax and take in the alpine scenery.

Your driver-guide will help you choose activities that suit your interests, fitness level and the conditions on the day. A full circuit of Dove Lake may be possible, depending on your walking pace and the time available. Keep an eye out for wombats, pademelons, echidnas and native birdlife.

There is also time to purchase lunch or enjoy a picnic you have brought with you.

4:00 pm – Depart Cradle Mountain
Return to Hobart via the Midlands Highway, travelling through Tasmania’s rural heartland.

Approximately 8:30 pm – Arrive at your Hobart accommodation
