Our shared shuttle departs from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, with pre-arranged pick-up available from your Cradle Mountain accommodation. Travel in comfort via the scenic Great Lake route, with a short refreshment stop at the Great Lake Hotel before continuing to Hobart. If your preferred date isn't showing, please contact us. We operate on demand and can often open additional departures or increase capacity to accommodate your booking.

Shared Shuttle Pricing

Our standard fare is based on four paying passengers. To keep fares as low as possible, we only share the cost of any empty seats when fewer than four people are travelling.

• 4 or more passengers – Everyone pays the standard fare.
• 3 passengers – The cost of one empty seat is shared between three passengers.
• 2 passengers – The cost of two empty seats is shared between two passengers.
• 1 passenger – Covers the cost of the three empty seats.

During the main walking season, most departures travel with four or more passengers, so additional charges are only occasionally required.

How It Works

Simply book and pay the standard fare to secure your seat. Around 30 days before departure (or as soon as possible if you're booking within 30 days of travel), we'll confirm the final passenger numbers.

• If four or more passengers are travelling, there's nothing further to pay.
• If fewer than four passengers are booked, we'll let you know if an additional payment is required. You can then either pay the additional amount to guarantee the shuttle operates or cancel your booking for a full refund.

If additional passengers book after you've confirmed your place, we'll automatically refund any overpayment to your original payment method, ensuring you only ever pay your fair share.
